CarTV Player ("CarTV", "the app", "the Service") is a media player for iPhone and CarPlay. It is free to download, and optional Pro features are sold through Apple in-app purchase. This page explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and which third parties may receive information when you use it.
If you choose to use the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described here.
CarTV does not require an account and does not ask you for your name, email address or any other personally identifiable information.
The content you create and add in the app is stored only on your device: your M3U/M3U8 playlist sources and the channels parsed from them, the guide data they advertise, your custom playlists, favorites and channel links, the videos you import, and your settings. We do not operate a server that receives this content.
Your playlists and sources, channel links, favorites, imported videos and settings are never uploaded to us or shared with anyone.
You can delete any of it at any time from within the app, and deleting the app removes all of it from your device.
CarTV is a player, not a content provider. It hosts no content, ships no streams, bundles no playlists and provides no channels.
When you add an M3U or M3U8 link, the playlist, its streams and any programme guide (EPG) it advertises are fetched directly from your device to the provider you chose. Those URLs are never sent to us. Like any web request, the provider you chose receives your device's IP address and the request itself, and how it handles that information is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, not by this one.
When you import a video from Files or Photos, the app receives only the items you pick and keeps them in its own storage on your device. Photo library access is requested only so you can choose videos to import.
The app uses, or may use, third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device, for example to serve advertising, measure app usage or report crashes. Links to the privacy policies of these service providers:
The app may show ads served by AdMob. On iOS, the app asks for your permission through the system App Tracking Transparency prompt before using the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, ads may still be shown but are not personalised using that identifier. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
CarTV Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription, weekly or yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are made with your Apple Account and processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your App Store account settings. Restore purchases in the app's Settings asks Apple for your existing purchases; no purchase information is sent to us.
In the case of an error in the app, we may collect data and information on your device, through third-party products such as crash reporting, called Log Data. This Log Data may include your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device model, operating system version, the configuration of the app when the error occurred, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other diagnostic statistics.
Log Data never includes the content you create or add in the app: your playlist and stream URLs, channel names, custom playlists, favorites, channel links or imported videos.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. They are sent to your browser from the websites you visit and are stored on your device.
The app does not use cookies itself. However, third-party code it relies on, including the embedded YouTube player and any advertising or analytics service listed above, may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services. If you refuse such cookies, some parts of the Service, such as trailer playback, may not work.
We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:
These third parties may have access to the information described above only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf, and they are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Content you create in the app stays inside the app's own storage on your device, protected by iOS. Information handled by the third-party services listed above is protected by those providers under their own policies, and we use commercially acceptable means to protect any information handled by the Service. No method of transmission over the internet, or of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service may contain links to other sites. If you follow a third-party link, you will be directed to that site, which is not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app or a third-party service it uses, please contact us so that we can take the necessary action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will post any new Privacy Policy on this page, and changes take effect when they are posted.
